Conference Theme

Emerging Paradigms of Global Entrepreneurship and Management: Issues and Challenges.

We can witness marked shift in businesses and their paradigms and models in the 21st century. Changes in markets, players, environment and processes have necessarily accentuated this shift. Organizations and entrepreneurial characteristics have changed from local to a global outlook. Government roles have changed from regulatory to facilitating the businesses. Western markets have lost their dominance and new markets have emerged with potentially great strength. Products and services are conceptualized for global markets rather than just for local. Growing from the bottom of the pyramid has received prominence in businesses. People and talent acquisition in the business processes are no longer country specific. Legal compliances, governance have undergone a major change. Climate change has necessitated new business models for sustainability. Conventional business risks now have the added element of terrorism. Techniques, processes and strategies demand a quantum change to face the challenges of these paradigm shifts. We need a different breed of entrepreneurs and managers to steer and lead organizations in the changed scenario. They need to have a global outlook with a sense of social responsibility, be highly creative and innovative, and being able to take risks and manage complexity and ambiguity.

The conference aims to discuss and deliberate these emerging contexts in the overriding reality of sustaining growth and expectations of countries, organizations and people. Papers other than the above theme on broad, general areas of business, management and economics are also welcome.

Papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in a special issue of the Global Business and Management Journal (GBMJ) (Vol.

1, No. 1).  Selected papers will be considered for publication after a double blind review process.  The (GBMJ) is an international refereed journal.

General Guidelines for the Authors

Please submit your research abstract not exceeding 200 words with an e-mail attachment.  Each submission should include the name, e-mail address, telephone number, and fax number of the contact person of the paper.  Abstracts will be blindly reviewed as they come in, and authors of accepted submissions will be notified as soon as possible. In order for papers to be considered for publication in the proceedings, the completed papers together with the registration form and fees must be in the hands of any of the under mentioned conference organizers by October 20, 2008.  Authors of all accepted papers must register for the conference by this date.
